The first match of the final of the Champions League ended with a defeat for Kometal Gjorcje Petrov of 27-23 (11-10). Our players, as well as the opponents, showed great handball and justified the presence of both teams in the final.

Kometal had the control of the result until the last 5 minutes. Slagelse wasn’t able to make bigger difference. The margin was +3 for the Danes only at the beginning of the match and was reduced to 1-2 after that. The defense and offense worked well at both teams and that was reason for the close result. It was like that until the 55th minute when our players managed to even the score to 22-22, but a big disturbance of the concentration happened after that, resulting with series of Slagelse of 5-1, setting the final score of 27-23.

The game was marked by Ozel on our side, as well as by Popovic and Lungu on the other. Something more about the injury of our captain, Indira Kastratovikj, the other remarkable moment of the match, will be known in the next days.

Kometal was supported by 200 Kometal Fans in Denmark, and the club expects much greater support on the rematch in Skopje, next Friday.

da hat sich denn auch noch die verpflichtung von carmen lungu bezahlt gemacht. wenn's drauf ankommt, haut die die dinger halt rein.

Habe gerade gesehen, dass das Finale schon Freitag ist....seltsamer Termin für ein Finale, finde ich. Obwohl, dann sind am Montag wenigstens alle wieder fit und nüchtern
