3 dänische Teams im 1/2-Finale wäre das Guten auch zuviel gewesen. Bisher also drei Überraschugen an diesem WE, aber Slagelse kommt morgen sicher weiter - das wird sogar ein Schützenfest werden

ein gutes hat's ja auch - kann weiter tw1 sehen!

im (vereins-)duell zwischen dänemark und ungarn haben die ungarinnen die nase vorn. allerdings ist dferr nicht wirklich favorit in der cl; für die ist bei der liste von ausfällen das bisher erreichte schon ein erfolg. ein finale kometal vs. slagelse würde den bisherigen leistungen am ehesten entsprechen.
ikast war absolut enttäuschend.

Slagelse sollte locker weiterkommen, bei der anderen Partie ist für mich alles offen.

...genau das haben die anderen dänischen teams auch gedacht... ich bin mir da nicht so sicher, auch wenn sich slagelse sicher weitgehend selbst schlagen müsste.

bei hypo - kometal sehe ich skopje durchaus vorn. mit der spielweise von hypo kommt kometal besser klar als mit dem tempospiel der däninnen. spannend wird sein, wie hypo in skopje empfangen wird. da wird prokop schon 'nen stabilen schirm brauchen.

Kometal Gjorcje Petrov will play with with the Austrian and eight times European Champions, Hypo from Vienna o nce again. That is what was decided o n the draw that was held this Tuesday in Vienna. Being familiar with the history of the matches between the two teams, it is very clear that this semi-final will be spectacular both o n handball and every other field.

Are you satisfied with the draw and what do you think about the opposing team of Hypo?

- We didn’t have a special wish about the draw because every team in the semi finals of the Champions League is strong. The draw decided that Hypo will be our next opponent, a team that we are very familiar with, a team with e great renown, a team that is a brand in the female handball, so we are preparing seriously for that great challenge. We are familiar with the qualities of Hypo, as well as of their players individually. We have tapes of all games of Hypo played this season, so we will analyze every aspect of their game to help us prepare better for the matches. They had a small fall after the finals 2000 but now they are back o n the scene and definitely are a tough opponent. Anyway, we will not underestimate them, although I personally think we have a better team than Hypo.

We didn’t have much luck o n the duels with Hypo, will it change this time?

- This is a new generation of players that do not have trouble with the history of the matches between the two teams. Both teams have equal score o n the official matches in the CL (4 victories each) but we have o ne more victory in the final match of the tournament in Skopje. Anyway, we hope that we will have better luck with the referees this time because that is the bad tradition o n the matches between the two teams in Vienna.

Are you satisfied with the draw and what is your opinion for the team of Hypo?

-I must say that we are still under impression from the victory over Krim because there were some people who did not believe we can do it and we proved them that they are wrong. When it comes to Hypo, I will say that they are a strong team; there aren’t weak teams in the semis of the CL. We know their team pretty well, their backs, leaded by Logvin, are the best part of the team, so we are going to prepare physically and psychologically during the following period in order to end up as winners after the two games.

They have the two best scorers in the Champions League, is that saying something?

-That shouldn’t mean anything. The team plays the match, not o ne or two players. It’s always better if more players score few goals.

The tradition is not o n Kometal’s side before the semi final matches, what do you expect now?

-I think that now is the real moment to turn a new page in the history of the matches between the two teams! It is good that we will play the rematch in “Kale” in Skopje, so we will do our best to pass over Hypo and to play another final in the CL.

Erstmals seit fünf Jahren steht Hypo Niederösterreich wieder in einem Champions League Semifinale. Ausschlaggebend waren zwei beeindruckende Leistungen gegen die starke dänische Truppe von Ikast. Daheim einen Sechs-Tore-Rückstand in ein Plus-Fünf verwandelt, auswärts zu Beginn der zweiten Spielhälfte bereits mit 15:22 zurück, um abermals in einem furiosen Endspurt das Spiel noch einmal umzudrehen. Dort, so ergab die Auslosung am Dienstag im EHF Office in Wien, wartet mit Kometal Skopje ein alter Bekannter. das Negative mit den Ausschreitungen vor etlichen Jahren in Skopje sind vom Tisch, bei Hypo NÖ pickt man sich die positiven "Zuckerl" der letzten Begegnungen heraus. So etwa die Tatsache, dass der letzte Champions League Sieg aus dem Jahr 2000 gegen eben diese Mazedonische Mannschaft fixiert wurde, auch damals wurde das zweite Match auswärts in Skopje gespielt.

bei ner 6-Tore-Führung zuvor ist dieses Ergebnis am Ende sicher zu wenig für Hypo. Aber vielleicht hilft ja Özel Hypo weiter ...

dunaferr - slagelse 25-28.

wow. bärenstarke leistung von leganger, die das tw-duell gegen palinger klar gewinnt. radulovic fällt nur durch herausgeholte zeitstrafen und verwandelte 7m auf, popovic mit 12 toren klar gefährlicher. slagelse präsentiert sich ganz klar als der titelkandidat der championsleague.

Außer Özel war aber bei Skopje nichts wirklich tolles zu sehen. Hypo war eigentlich besser....aber wenn man so viele Chancen nicht nutzt...naja, und das leidige Thema bei Hypo, die Torfrauen. Da hat eine immer mal nen Lichtblick. Aber so richtig dolle....ich weiß nicht....!

Ich tippe zwar auch auf Skopje, die zu Hause....das muss ja eine unglaubliche Athmosphäre in der Halle sein.

Ich hoffe aber auf Hypo...Wien ist ne schöne Stadt und immer eine Reise wert (ok, genauer: auch Mödling, wo die Halle steht, ist sehr nett)....Außerdem gibts da ne Fernsehübertragung von

Im Finale dann gegen Dunaferr, das wäre dann stimmungsmäßig die Krönung....habe ich vor ein paar Jahren mal gesehen, war allerdings das Halbfinale, das war schon ziemlich gut! Aber nach dem Spiel gestern müsste da schon ein Wunder geschehen.

Dunaferr im Finale? Wovon träumst Du eigentlich nachts?

Slagelse bringt auch laute Fans mit - wenn auch für meinen Geschmack zu laute Fans ...

WOMEN’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMIFINAL: HYPO v KOMETAL

The first leg of the Women's semifinal on Friday evening between Hypo Niederösterreich and Kometal Djorce Petrov Skopje was the opener for the Champions League weekend. This clash brought old rivals together and it was a chance for both teams to go to a Champions League final again after a long absence.

After previous incidents at former matches between the two teams, there was quite an amount of tension in the air; however, the game was carried out in a positive atmosphere without any disturbance at all.

A large group of Kometal fans travelling all the way from Skopje cheered their team during the entire 60 minutes and there was not a single free seat anywhere in the hall.

The home team was the first to find their rhythm and took a 10:5 lead after 14 min. Kometal coach Viktor Portnoj utilised his team-time-out, but it didn’t help too much. Two successful 7-metres by Champions League top-scorer Tanja Logvin put Hypo 13:7 in front, which would prove to be the biggest gap of the game. Finally the guests found some answers and a 4-0 series by Kometal brought the result back in balance for at least a few minutes.

Of course, Hypo’s coach Gunnar Prokop had some aces left and his team struck back to finally take a five-goal lead into the half time, taking advantage of a missed penalty by Skopje’s Olga Bujanova.

Kometal Skopje, Champions League winner of 2000, had the better start to the second half and especially 25-year old Turkish player Yezil Özel delivered a top performance during the entire second half. The guests reduced the deficit to two goals after just 6 minutes much to the delight of their fans all dressed in the club’s colours green and yellow.

A more flexible defensive system from coach Portnoj made it more and more difficult for Hypo to score and a few good saves by goalkeeper Natalya Borisenko did the rest to prevent the home team from taking any considerable lead.

Even though there were enough chances on both sides, there were also enough easy mistakes by both teams and the goal difference remained between plus two and plus four for the home team all the way to the end with Kometal’s pivot Anzela Platon scoring the last goal of the match just seconds prior to the final whistle.

Understandably, the home team was not too happy with the result of 32:30, as they were leading by more goals during most parts of the game. However, Kometal’s experience and their strong self confidence after having eliminated last year’s runners-up Krim Ljubljana in the quarterfinals helped them to stay in the game and return home with a comfortable result.

No doubt, the “Kale” hall in Skopje will be on fire next Saturday for the second leg and Hypo will need a top performance to qualify for their first final in five years.
