Duarte Santos and Ricardo Fonseca, the game referees, deliver Tunisia win against Bosnia

  • Referring by Duarte and Ricardo, the game referees, was shameful.
Pity for all the fans of the game and for both teams - and shame for IHF.

  • Maybe you could explain how the referees "delivered" the win for Tunisia. Bosnia was leading by two goals (24-22, 54min), when they received two 2min suspensions which both were correct. Even after these two minutes with two players less on the field, Bosnia was down by only one goal (24-25, 57min). With three minutes to play referees gave a 2-min-suspension against Tunisia, but Bosnia missed the open shot from right wing and tunisia scored short-handed (24-26). The only false decision by the referees was to call an offensive foul against Dejan Malinovic. But even after that false decision Bosnia had a chance to get at least a point. But again they missed an open shot on fast break. It's easy to blame the refs, but if you're team doesn't score a single goal in the last 6 minutes of the game you might think of other reasons for this loss.

  • To Arcosh:
It is pity for both teams; Bosnia wasn't convincingly better at all, struggled through the whole game and Tunisia might have won without any help.
But, when Bosnia managed to give them self a chance, 4 minutes before the end, and when they had 2 goals advantage, referees sent 2 Bosnian players off leaving 4 in the court - in particular the 2nd send off was completely unjustified. They were pushed over the cliff by the referees and it was so obvious.

I used to play basketball a lot, and had a friend who would always joke - in sport, a small cheat in the right moment makes a miracle. There was a big cheat there, so obvious.

Mate, what's Gensheimer, google wouldn't translate you word?

Why complain - because it was obvious, because the sport is supposed to be free from those things, because those Bosnian players fought really hard (although they may not be the best players or the best team in the world) and the game was taken from them in the way it should not.

By the way, it's been 25 years that I watched a handball game; it is not that boring at all.  :hi:

I absolutely agree on this. It's pretty easy for refs to fix a match in handball or basketball with some small decisions at the right time. It's a pity and the reason why accusations of bribery often do ccur.

But in my opinion the second send off was right. The bosnian defender touches/grabs the tunisian left winger's foot while he is in the air. These rather small contacts can cause the winger to lose body control and cause injuries. Therefore they should be penalized by the refs.

There's no translation. Uwe Gensheimer is germany's left wing and often critisized. German fans rather blame Gensheimer than the refs ;)

  • and i think, that uwe gensheimer hasn't been critisized very often-
he has been critisized only from a few people-but they do it for many times....

i think the very most people or fans from handball know,
that he is one of the very best players on his position-
but the most fans can realized this without any words here.....
because they think that everyone can see it on tv...
